Quebec Coalition for Women's Health

Message from the Chair

Women's Health Coalition of Quebec

The Quebec Coalition for Women's Health is committed to building a network of women, health professionals, business and community leaders united around a common goal: to improve women's health across Quebec.

To be a force for change, build strong partnerships, and act as a key voice and catalyst to advance women's health in the province.

A Quebec where every woman benefits from a fair diagnosis, equitable treatment, barrier-free access to health services, and where research on women's health is valued, supported and applied.

We work in collaboration with institutional partners, community stakeholders and committed patients to make a real difference in women's health. We want to continue this work by combining the voices of women in the regions, Indigenous women, LGBTQ2S+ communities and marginalized groups, so that all are represented in the decisions that affect them.

Every contribution counts, and we express our deep gratitude to the board members and volunteers of the coalition, for their unwavering commitment.

Together, let's make women's health a priority in Quebec.

Priority Areas of Action

Inequalities in menstrual, reproductive and sexual health create major barriers for women at all stages of their lives. To help women better navigate the system and access health supports, our advocacy work is organized around five main areas of action:

Equitable access

Ensure that all women, regardless of their ethnic origin, gender identity, socioeconomic status or place of residence in Quebec, have fair and equitable access to health care.

Distribution of public funds

To call on government authorities to ensure that the distribution of health budgets truly reflects the needs and perspectives of women, and that it corrects historical gaps in funding.

Efficiency and Service Delivery

To ensure that wait times, billing codes, access to specialists, sharing of medical records and the overall delivery of care are optimized, both for professionals and patients.

Clinical research

Ensure that health research fully integrates women's specific experiences and receives equitable funding across all clinical areas.

Digital Health and Women's Technology

To ensure that digital health innovations reduce rather than exacerbate inequalities, while supporting the development of femtech industries and technologies designed for women.
